You are absolutely right. The problem with the photos is that I'm still trying to get things right with the GIMP. I'll post some that don't burn the eyes soon! Thanks.
Whatever you have done with the photos you should stop doing it. I can't comment on your minis based on these photos where all the edges disappear in a white haze...
