High Elf Shadow Warrior as a D&D Character

Here's Urv, my Living Greyhawk character. Urv is a Baklunish Rogue from Ket, if that means anything to you... I spent quite a lot of time on this, trying to get it just right. I'd count it in the top five minis I've done up to this point. Urv was an early 2006 effort, if I recall correctly (could be wrong about that). Any comments would be much appreciated.

A good starting effort. You look like you need better brushes, and i agree that your paint is too thick. You may have reached a point in your painting development where you are limited by your tools; which is a good thing, you just need to take the next step.

It pretty much has been commented on... The thickness of paint is a problem. Did you mix he colours before you painted them on? Blending is a technique that you could benefit from ... I do like the chain skirt and the buckles... Remember it's all about practice! Cheers - F

the paint is too thick on many parts. i think the face is taking away the most. the thing is that you should layer it up with colors. go to dragonsreach's website he has a great tutorial on painting faces. he is a moderator on here. the cloak is not bad either but i feel the green is just caked on and it is not working. we are losing some of the folds on the outfit due to the thick paint. also and this is purely aesthetic, the leaves on the side might also be hurting it. many people like the miniatures to be perfect on all sides. i hope all my comments have helped you. if you have any questions please feel free to pm me. dont give up yet. :) uber
