My first posting of a mini! This was entered in a local painting contest held at a neighborhood comic book store. It was for a 'design your own chapter contest'. The Animus Corripios(yes i know bad latin...it's suppose to mean Soul Catchers). They capture souls for the Emperor. The guy at the bottom of the pic is having his soul torn out (hence the blue arms coming out of his chest). Not happy at all with the nmm on the arms and staff. The rock is made from sculpey, the banner is paper and the red stuff is sand. I didnt take this pic but is alot better than what i could do. I havent been painting minis very long(bout...8 months) so i welcome any comments or criticizms(??) as to how this could have been better and what i need to work on to get better. (i know...long comment) Thanks so much!!

This looks good, I think i would give it a higher mark if i could see more of it and with a better picture. The sand comes off as too garish... repost if you can :)

I agree 110% that a better pic (showing the entire thing) would do this mini more justice. I will have to see if I can manage one. Oh yeah...i tied for 1st!! woo hooo. Thanks :)

I might have missed it in your description, but I don't think you mentioned how you did in the competition. Looks like a nice little scene but a bigger pic would be helpful (although I know how difficult taking pics of minis is) Great idea and an excellent colour scheme give this an 8, although if I could see if better I might have given a higher mark. The NMM looks good aswell. My only suggestion would be to look at all the figures on this site and draw inspiration from them. You look like you are on the right track! Keep it up....
