nice style if you want smoother transitions than thin the paints. if you want to have fun and have your own style. paint it like you have been. its very cartoony (cel shaped ) style.
Work with thinner paint when layering on the highlights. This way you can make the transitions smoother. You should hardly see any effect of one single layer, and then repeat the process until you're satisfied with the result.
