Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist

I had fun with the two-color cloak Gorman is wearing -- brown on the bottom, red on the top. Blending up from brown to yellow, and from dark red to orange made for really nice contrasts, and the colors were far more complimentary than the base-coat suggested. This was also my very first attempt at making something glow. Sadly, now that his vials are glowing it looks like the surrounding clothing should glow as well. This picture demonstrates the deficiencies of our light-box: there's not enough low-level light for you to see the grenades under his right arm or the detail on his goggles.

Saw this over at Schlock. The technique is great and the colour choice is excellent. I'm not a fan of the mini (how does his cloak flow, with a metal trim?), but you've addressed it well. The main thing keeping youre score down in the neatness of the application. But knowing how new you are to painting minis, I'm sure that'll pick up pretty soon. Schlock forever!
