Dwarf Warriors

I always wanted to paint dwarf warriors, so I did, but I don't really have a reason to keep them. I really enjoyed painting them and I hope you enjoy viewing them. Visit the ebay auction for more picture. Thanks.

speaing as somone who, himself, is "not-the-best-artist" I actualyl like thes,e they remind me a LOT of hoe my work looked a year ago I think there is some truth, that they could use a little shading but as for the comment "ormally dwarfs dont hold standards entirely made out of metal. That is somehow too heavy for me to accept." that's cxalled artistic liscence, I think it's unfair to vote on peoples artistic choice,s these votses should be (mainly at least) about technique. having colours that clash badly ca look bad, but still , it's artistic choice, that is NOT easily definable as right or wrong. perhaps, in Martin2D's mnd Dwarfs are isnanley strong, or, they are jsut that damn dedicated, to bother hualing an all metal standard around in battle.

Ok, first I really give your figs a 5 because they are table top quality, the 8 is to even out the silly 2 you received from Talmir. That was just wrong on so many levels and not what I think the spirit of this site is. First thing you need to do is thin out those paints that is one of the secrets to layering you were asking about. Second don't think of a wash as something you spread all over, take a liner say 6/0 or smaller and paint on a small amount of the wash into the deepest depressions. Then come back with your darker tone really thinned out and build up the layer. Repeat with progressively lighter colors all thin until you reach the final highlight. The beards really need that final touch of highlight. The horns look good you just need a bit of seperation between the metal and the horn.
