Crested Feldrake

This is the first miniature I ever laid a brush to, at least in any seriousness. I had done some cheap GW plastic archers previous to this, but that was more simply an experiment to see how the paints worked out. As you can see, its fairly plan. The color scheme I like, though. Not much in the way of shading and/or highlighting here. First image, first miniature ... seemed like a good idea to me at the time. Unfortunatly, as you can probably guess ... I have a scanner and not a digital camera. Unfortunate for picture quality, so just imagine it wasnt as fuzzy as it is :)

Very good for a first mini - I look forward to seeing what you do with more practice. The paint is clean and there is some shading. You also finished the base, which is great, but you may want to either paint the base before the flock or add more since it looks like some black is showing through right by his feet.

I think the painting level is ok for a first mini. There's some shading and highlights and the most important, the colours are applied cleanly.

Thank you for the tips, I saw those ... although not quite in time I am afraid. Ah well, my future miniatures will benefit greatly from your scanning prowess. Thank you kindly for sharing. I never expected a rave reaction to my first miniature anyway, I just felt he deserved to be up here.
