my favorite mini

This is my most recent paint job. Overall I really like the way it turned out. However, I'm not so fond of the NMM. I really haven't been painting very long, so I would appreciate any comments that you have.

Your NMM is sufferein from a few things IMO. One, you glossed it...bad. Two, there's not enough contrast...it should fade from a basicaly black and white horizon. The NMM gold suffers from not enough colors...it should have some warm brownnish colors in there...it looks cold. Those things aside some lining would help to set off things like her necklace better and really make this a nice piece.

First of all that skin is fantastic. Whoo-hoo, if only six armed, grey babes really existed. My wife would have some competition. She'd need to tint her skin an lose a couple arms. Anyway, I'm not great with NMM, but I did notice a couple of things that might help. It appears that you are doing Sky-Earth NMM. Meaning, you have a clear horizon reflected in the metal, above is lighter, because of the lighter sky and the lower part is darker. Correct so far? Well, if you are going to do that you want to get the horizon to look the same in every weapon. So, bascially, you want the line in every weapon to be tilting at the same angle from the ground. I think. Your top three blades all look similar. However, her bottom right blade appears to go the opposite direction and her bottom left blade seems very unusual. Well, that being said, I don't know much about Sky-Earth NMM and probably shouldn't even be speaking. Still, the blue section of the metal looks very good.

Superb face (love her eyes), awesome skin tones, cool scales... The NMM looks weird, tho, strange kind of blending or something, I think without such a big contrast it would look better (ur golds r good so try something similar with silver)
