Skink Chief
Everyone loves the fish in the water, and I even painted its eyes (but there's only a couple of angles you can see it from in real life). Overall, very pleased with this model as one of the best single models I've ever painted. When I painted it I toyed with some techniques for doing mother of pearl.. they came out ok in the mosaic areas. Points of note - the dappled markings on the crest were a last minute addition that I think saved my arse in the comp; before hand it looked really odd without being able to say why! If I did it again, I'd make the little blue gem on the tail armour a different colour, I think it sits at odds with the rest of the model. I'd probably do a pale green to tie in with both the lillie pads and the mozaics (and the sheild a bit too) I had a little trouble with the colours in the photos, but they're ok enough.
