Dark Elf Corsair Champion
So this model was a bit more thought out than many of my previous paint jobs. I considered more the cool & warm colours, and I tried some new techniques. General aim was to paint the Elf in totally cool colours that befit the northern region he comes from, however then to paint the surrounds and anything not his (blood, base, dirt on clothes, severed head and to a certain extent the sea-dragon cloak) in warmer colours. And of course my "trademark" small sculpted animal... this time a mouse/rat of somekind. In terms of feedback I've already had a lot of good stuff; cloak, hair, metal, base.... Weisern spotted the "splotch" of black wash that I forgot to blend back in on the back of the axe head. I also noticed another on HIS left gauntlet. Automaton also pointed out that the sand/dirt on his tabbard thing was a bit light and looked like a possible highlight error :v( but I didn't see any way around it seeing as he is on a sandy base... maybe I would be better to try to make the dirt stains a bit more subtle next time... I've had extra feedback talking about being more adventurous with the cloak like blending through a couple of colours along the scales or trying some spekky translucency action on each scale. Anywho, it's done now and although there are things I can do to it, it's a real fav of mine in my collection. Enjoy BenSquig
