I made these using leftover sprues from my Guard army. They took about 10 minutes per bases to make and around 1 hour per base to paint, so pretty easy.

nice idea. but i agree with the sculpting and a better paint job would help...anyway nice bases!

Cool idea! But actually sculpting the bases would very much improve the impression, i'd say.
