Nurgle Chaos Champion

My version of the WFB Nurgle Chaos Champion, it’s not a gaming mini just a one for the ever growing collection. This was painted on a Black primer, which is unusual for me. The base colour is GW’s Camo Green thinned to make a light coat, then mixed with amounts of Bleached Bone to get the highlights. The face is a mix of Bronzed Flesh and Rotting Flesh with a very thin wash of Turquoise Glaze to give a sickly look. The Spots/Nurgle Icon on the forehead are done with Bubonic Brown highlighted with Golden Yellow mixed in and then Bleached Bone to make them look like zits. After the Shoulder pads were done, I started to get the impression of a ‘Graphic Novel/Comic book character’ type of effect on the mini, which I just continued to go with and just painted the primary surfaces and let the black primer show as shadow. I like the end product and will try it again on one or two others in my collection. This is also my first foray into NMM, which I think has worked ok. I didn’t feel comfortable discussing or making comments on NMM without trying it. It’s a difficult effect to work with taking time and patience. Obviously I’m not yet at a good standard or totally comfortable with this technique, but I can now appreciate with more understanding the higher quality levels of NMM I’ve seen on this site. I’ll probably give it another couple of tries before I decide to continue or not, but I will reserve it for the ‘Showcase’ or ‘Collector’ mini’s and not the Rank & File.

Nice, and congrats! If it means anything, I honestly thought this was metallic paints until I read the description! God knows I love nurgle - if I had a complaint, it might be that he's a bit clean. No chipped armor or rust....rust especially would be appropriate, even on NMM. Angela (Saxonangel) talks about doing rusted NMM on a recent update to her website.
