Full sails bounding on the briny Jolly Roger's flappin', score o'loaded eighty-fours Many pretty treasures, lots o' booty to be taken The cannon and the cutlass on a rebel Man-o-War - The Real McKenzies, "Cross the Ocean" Esmeralda the Green Velvet Pirate was my entry in the Exodus Road Pirates painting contest. She won first prize in the Wenches category. The green velvet idea came well before the name, I went to an author's reading the day after I finished her and she's named after a woman pirate in the book. A small coincidence, since "Esmeralda" means "emerald".
