Another go at Gandalf, this time the GW version. This is a beatiful, detailed mini that I was saving for a time in the future where my painting skills could match such a fine sculpture. But the opportunity to paint it to enter an online competition presented itself and I had a great time trying to match the colours to a picture of Gandalf that I found in Google. The contest was a fraud (the organizer never updated the site since then nor did he replied to my email) so half a year later I think it's time to update my gallery with it. I'm particularly happy with the NMM on the sword and the weathering effects on the robe. The base comes from Groundforge.

Love the colours you have used, he looks great, sorry to hear of your bad luck in the online comp. Try the wyrd miniatures comps there great!!!!!

I really like the robe, great colour and nicely highlighted. The travel stains are a very nice touch. The skin of the hand looks a little red, not sure if tha'ts the photo. Very nice job overall, sorry the contest turned out to be a bust.
