Trathus, Adventuring Mage

This is my first post of my first serious mini! I’ve never painted a mini that took more than four hours of serious effort before now, and I am quite pleased. Of course since I’m hoping to improve I have posted it here to receive tips and suggestions. I have a few notes about it, 1. No NMM here! I used metallic paints and so some of these areas are a little bright, 2. Whoa! That staff is BRIGHT!, although it is supposed to be for the character I made (It’s named the Staff of Brilliance) I’m sure there are better ways to highlight it than coat it in shining gold and highlight with Brandished Gold, so fire away! 3. The vial on his belt is red because it’s supposed to hold the essence of a phoenix, this was my biggest regret in the sense that I cannot successfully do OSL and I would have liked for a small reddish glow. 4. I like comments and suggestions more than scores, scores will either put me down or give me an ego, comments can help me grow as a painter so please leave them and I will appreciate it! I want to say thanks to Viking Lodge studios for giving me my inspiration. Not to mention than insane little mini called Golgotha ;) Which is the first mini that made me almost soil myself. That's a great point and one I noticed cause on the pic it shows up dramatically. What is a good brand of Matte Varbish to try? Cause I have Citadel's spray matte varnish and it just suck all the life out of the paint.

Its good but try some matt varnish. It will take away the shine on the model. Good luck -Justin-
