I saw your comment in the shoutbox and decided to look for myself. Having looked at length at this Figure I can see why people are voting at the level they are. Firstly the photograph is terrible, I'm sorry there is no other way to phrase that. There are so many areas which are out of focus and blurred that is is very difficult to see any detail.
Secondly there is evidence of heavy Drybrushing in what I can see, while in itself a useful technique it's not always suitable to every minature.
Thirdly; There appears to be several areas of Purple on the head, arms and legs, without seeming to be rude, these just look random and without any real purpose.
Lastly; the base edge looks unfinished and to me, untidy.
If this is meant to be solely a gaming piece It would not look out of place on a table top, but if you want it to be a cantre piece, then I think you need to address a couple of things. Give greater emphasis on the Chitinous plates, make them a contrasting colour. Carefully pick out some of the details and make then brighter than the base colous of the model.
I think you did a great job, especially considering your exp. w/ painting. If a 5 is table top quality than I think this deserves at least a 6 for your attempts at highlighting and your obvious attention to some of the smaller details.
