I couldnt Get my camera to focus on this right. Still needs some shading and I dont like the base :( . I just like it because it is the only flying Chonian larva, well at least it can try with those tiny wings ;)
If you have an auto focus and it's not getting the right area (here it seems to have focused on the tail) you can hold a piece of paper with writing on it at the distance you want the camera to focus. It will catch the sharp angles and contrast of the letters and focus there.
Hold the shutter button the required position to cause the autofocus to set, then pull away the paper and take the picture.
If you are using a timer (which you should be) it's easy as you have several seconds after it focuses to remove the paper.
