Necromunda Cawdor Heavy Stubber Conversion

This was a winning entry in GW/Specialist Games' "Fanatic Painting Scheme." I am unconvinced by bright, vivid, shiny Necromunda gangs. For my Cawdor, I took inspiration from movies that make use of filters and a limited pallette to convey a world in shadow. I'm going for a kind of gritty, dirty half light, not quite moonlight. Alien 3, Band of Brothers, and Underworld were my resources. I wanted a second heavy stubber for my gang and I won't accept duplicate figs. This figure was converted from the grenade launcher heavy. The heavy stubber is from an Orlock. The right arm is green stuff. The backpack is a new Orlock one with the knife dremeled off and replaced with an autogun.

I think your inspiration served you well, and you did a great job achieving a gritty look. Your colours are muted and realistic, yet painted in such a way that all the elements of the mini stand out clearly. There's a few areas where the blends could be smoother, but overall, great job!
