Dark Angels Tactical Squad 1
A full tactical Squad, led by Veteran Sergent Nicodemus. I've written a piece of background for all my leaders and tried to translate it into english...therefore I post it here. Nicodemus was born on the world of Khor 327 years ago. Khor is a feudal world with mild climate. Men live in small villages and towns all over the three big continents. Few of these settlements contain populations of more than several hundred people except the cities of the mightiest aristocratic lords. The Title of the planetary governor was given to the most powerful one who helped integrating the Imperium into politics and calming the worrying crowds. The monotheistic religion on Khor mixed with the imperial cult very well and the eklissarchy supports several great monasteries on the surface. Nicodemus was born as son of a smith approximately 50 years after the reassignment of the planet to the Imperium and was supposed to learn the craft of his father. His life changed drastically when the rock came near Khor and looked for recruits. The warriors of the Adeptus Astartes were identified with the mythical helpers of their god and so the youths were eager to join the ranks of the emperors greatest servants. Nicodemus vigour and sharp mind along with the natural tolerance of his body for the gifts that are bestowed on all Space Marines made the chapter choose him as a recruit. After his service as a scout he was made a battle brother of the 6th company but was re-assigned to a fighting company after a short period of time. The orbital assault on “Orobra tertius” was a turning point in his career when he and his sergent along with three other squad members were divided from the rest of the force in consequence of their damaged drop-pod and had to fight their way out of Tau-held territory back to the imperial lines. When they came back, only the progenoids of their three brethren were with them. Nicodemus didn’t know that his sergent was a secret member of the deathwing and had his eye on him because he was sure of his martial skills as well as his noble character. When brother Issack died in battle Nicodemus ascended into the ranks of the deathwing. A long time full of boarding actions and ground assaults with the first company followed and it is only a short time since he once again strapped on his regular power armour to lead the squad of his former sergent after he went out to fulfil some “secret quest” and was never heard of again. Nicodemus has proven his worth as a leader in battle during the last few years and earned the respect of his men during intense fighting against an Ork Klan and the forces of Chaos.
