Hordes Totem Hunter

Done up in the book scheme, I painted this model for a local painting competition. We had from the release date (end of April) until May 11 to finish the model. I did this guy in about 2 weekends (maybe ~20 hours) to my usual tabletop standard. The model was primed black with Duplicolor black sandable primer. The skin was basecoated with GW Shadow grey. It was worked up with Vallejo Cold Grey. Highlighting was done with Vallejo Stone Grey with some CMV Pale sand worked in for bighter highlights on the edges. The armor was basecoated in GW Dark Angel Green and highlighted by adding in some Goblin Green for successive layers. The metallic trim is started with GW Tin Bitz, then Brazen Brass was applied. Beaten copper was used to highlight before being washed with thinned browns. More highlighting was done with Shining Gold on edges with Mithril Silver blended in on edging and points. The blades were a base of Chainmail with Mithril Silver added for edging. Washes of thinned Shadow Grey were used to add a slight bluing to the metal and dull the flat areas. Thinned Skull White wat then used to pick out the very edges and tips of the metal. Bone trophies and teeth were a pretty standard Scorched Brown, Earth Brown, Khaki, Bleached Bone, Skull White tip progression. The photo is a bit rough, being the product of one single halogen bulb lamp and one small desk lamp, but it is what all the entries got and is a heck of alot better then nothing :-)
