LOTR Sharku On Warg

Here's a GW LOTR Sharku On Warg I entered in the 2006 Baltimore Golden Demon LOTR Single Mini Category. This one made it through the 1st cut. This was my first GD and I made 1st cut in 6 categories. Had a lot of fun and hope to enter again next year. Thanks in advance for taking a look and for any comments you might have.

The painting looks quite nice, and congrats on making first cut! I think the main issue this might have is that it fails to 'pop'. While the naturalistic colours are very in keeping with the films, they cause some elements to blend together a little visually. One way to approach that I can think of would be to alter the shades slightly. Like on the warg, the riding straps might be a bit more of a reddish brown. Another way is to go darker with shadow areas and lighther with highlights. The skin and face in particular would stand out and bring his personality out more with more highlighting.
