Light Elemental - Lions of Alahan

This mini represents a ton of firsts for me. My concept for her was, well, she's a light elemental, right? So I tried to paint her like a sunset. She's dark purpley at the shoulders fading through all of the colors of a spectacular sunrise down to white at the bottom. To add to that effect, I painted teeny tiny clouds on her, lit from underneath like they would be in a sunset. I painted Non-metallic metals on her, the first time I've been gutsy enough to try. I also gave her glowing eyes, but I'm kinda meh about the result. Her wings, however, turned out better than I had hoped. So, I came to the basing part. I hate basing. I decided to try out my snowflakes for the first time, and before falling asleep, struck upon the idea of her alighting on a snowy field and melting her way down into it. Working on the basis that she's made of light, I assumed she'd give off some heat. I used some water effects around the bottom of her to show the melted snow. The base didn't photograph so good, but you get the idea. Comments are always appreciated. Thanks!

THIS. IS. AWESOME. I really dig the prismatic sunset effect, it is realyl well realized and I think this deserves at least an 8. The painting may be a bit rough in spots, but the general idea is perfect, and the melting snow looks completely spot-on.
