Hi all, my first post here. It's the broodlord for my 40k Tyranid army. Unfortunately the dark parts turned out simply black (it's actually black turning purple near the edges, with pink highlights on the edges). Now I have to work on both my painting skill and the photography. *sigh* Anyway, the main thing I wanted to do with this mini was to justify his pose, since Tyranids are usually hunched over and sneaky. So I fabricated a fallen banner on the base and did what I never do: paint bloody smears on his hands and talons (which did not turn out to my liking). Please leave comments, as I want to improve my painting.

LoL, I see what you mean. My initial motivation for painting him up like that is that my normal genestealers are painted like that (with a black carapace) and I wanted him to look like a genestealer on steroids. Thanks to you, I will now giggle every time I field him. ;)

i can see the purple fairly well, and it puts a nice finish to the black. nicely done, but i think it looks as if he was wearing his pajamas and yawning before bedtime :D LOL
