Thanks, ill try to keep it simple and no, i didn't use a clear spray, i just did about 6 ink washes (bad idea) but my next guy ill try to do maybe 1 ink and see how it'll look. Thanks for the comments! :)
For a starter miniature, this is not bad at all ...
As I started with my son, it is best to start with keeping the techniques simple, thus allowing for practice in brush control and keeping the lines of color neat.
While it seems that drybrushing is "looked down upon", it is something that I recommend for starting out as it is fairly easy, teaches further brush/paint control, and is a way of indicating how a miniature will look with the more advances techniques of blending, washes, NMM, etc.
It is hard to tell if the miniature as had some sort of clear spray applied, but clear sprays not only help protect the miniature from handling, but it also unifies the shine on the different colors of the mini (compare the skin to the belly shield for an example).
But keep at it, as I have seen a "youngling", not unlike yourself, evolve into an excellent painter and become manager of a GW store.
