Dragon & Lancer - RP Personalities
A few words about this mini: Well, during the recent excavation that was performed on my closet with mini stuff, I’ve found this one. Dragon & Lancer (or Captain) is from RP’s Personalities series (No. 01-035). I was not much interested in RP's Personalities, since it was only for display and not suitable for a session of AD&D, particularly, due to it’s small size. However, this one caught my eye, some years before, and I’ve bought it. Now it was time to give it a try… Dragon is not converted (apart from it's base that was removed). The Lancer, however, wasn’t of my taste (I guess I was more interested in Dragon’s personality :) ) Thus, whip was removed from left hand and a small shield (originally meant for a goblin) took its place. Right hand was originally raised in order to throw the spear. I didn’t like that. So, I removed the hand and glued it lower to match the other shoulder height. Then hand was bended to hold spear vertically. I filled the gap, above right hand new position, with more hair… done! As for the base…I usually like colorful bases for my minis. This time, however, I wanted to do some bare and unfriendly terrain. I thought of a volcanic-like area where lava was coming out of earth. An old key ring, having a plastic skeleton on it, gave the idea of this ‘spring of death’. So, plastic skull was fixed on some modeling clay and painted to resemble rock. I used glue to give a somehow glossy feeling of the lava coming out from the skull eyes. That’s all. Hope you like the outcome…
