Frobenius, thanks for the encouraging comments. I haven't tried NMM as I'm not that good a painter and haven't the time to try and learn (to be honest!) OK I went for a black spray undercoat, Burnished Gold base coat, washed with thinned Brown Ink, highlighted with Shining Gold and then final highlight with Mithril Silver. I take your comment about the wings, I couldn't think how to fix them on and went with a cut down back pack with the wings attached, so you're right, they don't sit too well! But hey, they're meant to be an "ethereal" set of wings rather than an actual pair anyway! And they're way too big for the mini in reality! LOL They do seem to suit her and with her leaping off the rock they at least give a reason for her to float not fall!

I think the gold looks amazing for a model without NMM. Tell me how you did it! i am painting a Black Legion Lord at the moment and i need a hint on how to paint gold. Tell me please. anyway, about the model. i think it looks good. one of the only things i dont like about it is the wings. i think they have a wrong way to sit... i dont know how to explain it but they look out of place. but the painting looks very good. keep it up!
