Pyrion (plus some w.i.p.-shots)
This is a slightly different perspective/pose of the mini i posted no. 111475, as i have been asked to do more detailed pics of large and/or complex minis (this bugger is both...) i included some pics of the unpainted and partially unassembled pieces, but in terms of flavour and atmospherics i really recommend the aforementioned posting, this one is just for fun and hopefully to give some inspiration for any modeller/converter... but be warned: inspiration is given freely and of course as easily taken back from the pieces you come up with as this works both ways.... in case anyone is interested: i used mostly GW-plastics on the rider, and a GW-pegasus head for the steed. any sculpting (the rest of the horse, the banner, the flames, smoke) was done in magic sculpt (i love this stuff as it is as easy if not better to form as greenstuff, but hardens to a rock-hard material which can be sawed, cut, filed and of course "dremel"-ed. as i seem to be unable to sculpt properly and invariably have to work with this lovely tool to create stuff (more like a stonemason than a sculptor) magic sculpt is THE stuff of choice for me. one item of note: if you ever do a fragile, lovingly detailed, multi-piece thing like this one, make sure you either work in gravitationally unencumbered surroundings or, if that is not possible: do NOT, under any cicumstances, let the whole stuff fall off your table....you may encounter a violent streak in yourself and the wish to burn down the whole world, trust me, i know... (this is why the helmet looks different now, the other damage could be repaired as well but the tears i´ve shed....oh boy) So i´m off now, please let me know what you think! Thanks beforehand, Happy Painting!
