This mini is scoring as a low-level tabletop quality at the moment. I would suggest that you may be approaching the panting of your mini's slightly the wrong way, in that you seem to be trying to get an overall feel for the mini by doing all the areas to the same level of highlighting. I'd suggest that you need to take sections and work on them as individual pieces and do each section up to the best that you can before moving on to the next. I’d do metallic first, tidy up any over paint and then try doing the skin tones next, then the robes. By concentrating on this approach to each distinct area you may find that you will see a marked difference in each model. As it stands the brushwork shown on this model is not bad but it could do with some more attention. The metals are still slightly too thick, but it's an easy thing to do in the beginning. Metal paints can be diluted very strongly to make very thin layers, which can be carefully applied and repeated to get the best effect. You do not need to cover all the area in one layer of paint. Think thin, paint thin. Anyhow enough of my waffling on, I hope my suggestions may help and good luck with your painting.
