Dwarf on Table

Our local group had a competition to paint a Reaper Dwarf with metallic paints. I decided to experiment with the Vallejo alcohol metals. I was not too happy. Excellent coverage and very bright, but very hard to do any blending with. The armor is inspired by a real suit of armor in a German museum. Someone told me only the Japanese wore painted armor and I had to prove him wrong. The table is made from a baked clay called Cernit. My first table looked great until I tried to bake it and ended up with a bubbly puddle - too hot and too long in the oven (or maybe I shouldn't have placed it directly on the pizza stone). Anyway, it's my first table, and possibly my first free-standing sculpture. The mug and bowl are also cernit. I'm reasonably pleased. I hope you enjoy, and comments always welcome.

the tables cool mate. i have heard that the alcohol based metalics dry realy quickly and thus prove hard to blend with but, i think you have done a nice job despite this. nice one. chris

I think the photo is hurting this one. There is so much intricate detail, that gets lost in it...The pattern on th bowl, the spilled ale. The scratches on the helm. Solid job on the sculpting too.
