You asked what you have to do to get a higher score. I'm gonna give you a very simple answer: practise till you drop! Go to your local GW and take part in some painting classes, check out the sites of very skilled painters and especially: don't rush into hard technique's. Master the basics, then move on, it'll give you more clean mini's and higher scores. You'll see, if you are really dedicated, in a few years you'll be painting to a higher level. :) Good luck.

6.5 ha! ive made that very same post several times before! dont distress, this is a fine mini, and not a bad score. a few things to consider:1) almost everyone at cmon is a skilled painter. as such your work will be viewed critically by highly knowledgeable and trained painters. 2) table top quality is tt for said highly skilled painters. 3) its called cool mini or not, not well painted mini or not. asthetics play a big role - and lots of people here like bright, highly contrasted minis with lots of special techniques and stuff - no fault of their own, that just what they like. 4) the pic is ,like, 80% of your score - good lighting (i.e. now shadows etc) and background is crucial. thats good for now... and for my snipe - work on your metallic shading and hilighting (ask for tips).
