TO Boy
Look, I don't mean to be cruel, but this figure is not great COMPARED to other figures I look at, that get 9s, BUT you are getting the eyes on the figure, so at least you are doings something right. Don't feel crushed by the pitiful average, just think about this figure as a checkpoint in your painting career. To be as helpful as possible (I like being helpful to noobs, having just got out of that stage about a year ago), I will give you a list of things to try. 1. Make sure you paints are thin. Remember that you can always (I always do) apply several layers to make it stronger. 2. Thin down your paints. 3. Make sure your paints are thinned down to about 1 part paint to 2-3 parts water. For three years painting you are like my friend who has had similar years in the hobby but still paints badly. Having got eyes on your figure (something I remember as a launch pad into the 'pro' world), you will easily improve. You're already doing a great job by just looking at CMON! It won't win any GDs, but it really depends on how much time you want to put into each figure and the hobby in general. I generally do 1hr per normal soldier, and 5-20hrs on heroes, but I am only 12, so I have plenty of time. Up to you what you put in, but if you have time, PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE! Well, good luck!
