Wood Elf Lord w/ Great Weapon

This is my contribution to the Works of Heart, hurricane relief effort. I followed my usual style of painting. The one item I have been getting some questions on is how I did the armor, so I'll provide a short write up. The armor was based in Vallejo Intermediate blue. I then washed the entire bit of armor in Reaper Blue Liner (you can probably get the nearly the same color by darkening Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue with some Black Grey---it'll be close enough I'm sure). I cut back in and cleaned up the armor with Intermediate Blue. I then glazed up highlights with Pale Grey Blue, making sure that I stayed fairly concentrated with 'em. I then glazed up highlights of white to reinforce the glares. And that's about it. Hopefully, this mini will do its part on auction for the hurricane effort. Thanks, and if you have questions, feel free to ask either here or in PM---I always answer. Kev

Love the blue armour, nice change of pace. The display base is outstanding. 9.5 in my book. :D

Thanks Terry. I think the cloak contrast problem was a result of some photo washout that I just missed. The cloak colors scale from a reaper brownliner up to the US Tan---about the same greyscale as what's on the armor. I think it's just a result of my lack of photography skills----maybe I'll do better next time with the photo---as this one is already boxed and ready to go...8)
